I am posting this question for a friend of mine. Hopefully yall will have the answer for him.:D

I have a 1975 Chevy K5 Blazer 4x4 that I am trying to change from power steering to manual steering. I got a new manual steering and a new steering shaft coupler for a 1975 2wd 75 Blazer to fit my 1975 4x4 Blazer. It bolted right in, no problem. The problem that I am having is that the pitman arm from the power steering box does not fit the manual box and a pitman arm for a 2wd Blazer with manual steering does not work either. Is there a pitman arm that will work on a 4x4 Blazer with manual steering? I have tried pitman arms for both truck and blazers.

You might want to ask him why, it is a good way to get hurt.

I would never ditch power steering on a 4wd, it is a good way to get your arm broke. It is federal law that all 4x4 vehicles manufactured after '73 or so have power steering.

With that said, The problem is that 2wd & 4wd steering boxs stroke different directions. You could prolly cure this by swapping to crossover steering. Everyone here swaps to power steering 2wd box to do run crossover. I am not sure if the manuel boxes use the same pattern sector shaft though, so it might make it tricky to find a pitman arm for that too.

Really unless it is a straight line 300' mud drag truck he really needs to keep the P/S. I say keep it no matter what, but I know a lot of those mud drag guys ditch it for a manuel rack & pinion.

Oh really? Jeep CJs in the 80s (1983 one I drove a lot) had manual steering. I kinda enjoyed it. Just keep your thumbs out of the middle of the wheel.

Aiight so i asked why he wanted to change to maual steering and this seems like a valid reason to. He is building a sand drag truck.

I have been putting together my own BeanField Blazer. I have a 1975 Blazer that I bought all stock. I put a 12" lift on it, swapped out the NP203 for a NP205. I have the entire front clip of, only the bumper is left on right now. I pulled the 350/TH350 out and I am putting a new big block that I had built and a new TH350 from ATI.

The Engine is pro-built big block blower motor that Wally’s Precision Machine Racing Engines out of Chester, VA. The new motor runs on pump gas, 91 octane. The block is a GM Bow Tie 4-bolt main tall deck-100 over 454 (475CI), fixed/mechanical roller cam, the heads are Reher-Morrison Brodix aluminum CNC ported heads and with some additional port work done to the exhaust and a little clean up work done to intake, using Crane Gold racing full roller rockers, oiling system is a Weaver dry sump system with Weaver pump and tank & Mercury Racing SC1000 oil pan, the crank is a LA Enterprise Kryptonite stock 454 length, the rods are Carrillo Rods, SRP Pistons flat tops at 8 to 1 comp, The Blower Shops 871 with Teflon in the rotors, intake is port matched with Keith Eickert Performance Products intercooler with Cupro-nickel core, 2 Nickerson Performance 980 cfm Blower Carbs, Fluidampr Harmonic Race Balancer, Jesel belt drive system, MSD 7ML-2, MSD Pro Power Coil, MSD racing distributor, MSD Crank Trigger set up, Presolite alt and Tilton starter… 1000HP and 800lbs torque.

I cant get the power steering pump and system to work with the dry sump oil pump, water pump, 2nd water pump for water cooled intercooler, alt, and all... plus all that power, I need a much firm wheel because of torque steer.

So that is why I am trying to change over to manual steering, I have the manual steering box installed and got a steering shaft coupler to work, I just cant get a pitman arm that will work.

"The problem that I am having is that the pitman arm from the power steering box does not fit the manual box and a pitman arm for a 2wd Blazer with manual steering does not work either." What exactly doesn;t work about it? Could he ream the end to fit the draglink he's using or is the throw going the wrong way or what? Is he going to stay with push pull steering?
