So I thought Fords and GMs were interchangeable. I ordered a Ford pitman arm that was a little bit beefier with a 1" drop over what I have now to clear my crossmember. Turns out, the Ford was stamped 45 degrees off of what the GM one was.

Question is, has this always been the case and I've been wrong about it, or did it change somewhere down the line somewhere? Suggestions?

I just noticed that I think it was the dodge one that lined up. :doah:

Sorry, 2wd box with crossover is what it's going on.

IIRC there is *a* Ford arm that works with the GM 2WD box, off vans of some years or other. Doesn't mean that ALL Fords work, especially since vans and trucks are often different.

I seem to recall the Ford ones having their part number stamped on them, D-something; might be worth a search here to see what the original application was. The Superlift 1104 as sold by e.g. WFO has the right fitment to the steering box (but the other end is often reamed out for larger DLE's.)

If everything else is OK, a little work with a Dremal tool or hacksaw if its not too hard, would give you an arm that can fit at any angle.............

What year and application of Ford is this arm for?

I've thought about it. I looked at the equivalent dodge one and the splines looked to be clocked in the correct position. If it's not, I'll end up doing this.

I'm not exactly sure, but there are a few of them. It's a Skyjacker FA600. Here's what Summit says it fits. There's a whole slue of Fords.

please dont tell me you payed ANYTHING close to what summit wants for that..

And +1 on needing the superlift 1104
