I am looking for a pitman arm similar to the one already on the truck(see pic). The original arm came from ORD years ago(part #U9012) and I see their website has a new part number for the arm. The new arm looks more rounded and shaped like the longer arm in my pic. If anyone knows the application that runs the shorter arm please let me know. My hope is that the arm came from a Jeep or something else that runs a Saginaw steering box. I need the shorter arm to clear my high steer tie rod. The long arm is about 6 1/2" center to center and the short arm is about 5 3/8" center to center. I would like a similar amount of drop. The part number on the top looks like 8S52-040-112. I have tried google with no luck.

I know we just spoke on the phone but you might try Parts Mike.

Also, be aware that you will lose some turning radius going to a shorter pitman arm.

I knew I would loose a bit of turning radius but the geometry has changed because of the dana 60 high steer arms any ways. I am still hoping it will turn lock to lock.
I was really wanting to find out it was an arm for something else so I could look it up and order it in Canada to save a bunch of duty costs.
I'll stick in a couple of pictures of what I am trying to do.

The one I have LOOKS like the Superlift 1104 or the one you have pictured, with the rounded edges, but is a smidge smaller. It's about 6" center to center and has about 2 3/8" drop. I don't know if that's short/deep enough for you.

My notes say it came off a Ford van, mid-70's through '84, part # D9TA-3590-GA. Some are apparently keyed at 0* / 90* / 180* / 270*, which is good, but others are 45* off, so they're no bloody good.

You can find a number of posts here, some of which are helpful, by searching for "Ford van pitman arm." If you have the time and inclination, a run around your favorite junkyard with a measuring tape might be in order. Dang near everybody has Saginaw boxes so finding a compatible arm is easy, it's just a matter of finding one of the right orientation and size.

It will probably need to be reamed out to fit your TRE/DLE/whatever you're using on the draglink, but the reamers are easy enough to find, borrow, whatever.

Good call on checking Parts Mike, I think this is pretty close.

Dremu, the 1104 does looks really similar to the one I have. If the TJ pitman arm doesn't work I will be checking into the superlift arm if it is a little shorter.

When i center my wheels in my wheel well and put the pitman arm I have on the box the drag link is not straight to my steering arm, it leads towards the right front. It is also close to the raised tie rod.

Not sure if this will help or not. First picture is of my ORD crossover 2wd arm. Works fine I'm sure, but didn't like the drop since I'm only running 4" lift. The last two are of my current arm taken from a Ford Van and reamed out by WFO (IIRC) The difference in length is close to 1/2" or so. I don't think your original is a Ford van arm. My knuckles do not turn lock to lock (WFO arms) because of the shorter pitman arm. However, it still turns amazingly tight (compared to my little S10) and might help decrease U-joint bind up.
