I need the socket (6 prong deal, I think) to pull the rear drums off my K30. All the posts on here say any parts store will have them, but when I go, no one seems to have a listing, or even be able to get them.

Anyone have a part number, or an online resource?

Also, anyone know where to get the gasket that goes under the axle flange for the 14b? My manual says there is a gasket, but mine just have RTV in there. I always prefer to do it the "right" way.

Thanks in advance!

Just about any auto parts store should have one.

I bought both of mine off of the Matco truck. The silver one is OTC brand and is much easier to use due to the fact that it stays centered in the axle tube...... but they did cost more than $15 on the truck.

Anyone have a part number for the OTC one? I'd like the centering version. The NAPA next to my house had no listing for that tool, and they acted like I had three heads when I tried to explain what I wanted.... Sigh.

There is also a 4 lug socket. I honestly don't remember which one you need maybe one of the other guys can help on that.

Generally, the 4 lug socket is for 1/2 and 3/4 tons fronts (10 bolt and D44) while the 6 lug socket is for 1 ton stuff (D60, D70, D80, FF 14 bolt, etc).

I've heard there are exceptions but I've never seen one.

x2 What he said.

Those sockets are almost always on the floor in the tools section if they have one. i just got mine a few days ago and Kragan had them too.

Otc 1929, it is 3/4" drive, so be prepared to buy a 3/4 to 1/2" reducer if you don't have any 3/4" drive tools.
