@Desert_K5 asked me about my plasma table earlier so I figured I’d start a thread and post a bunch of pics, as well as give a little review....

First of all...
I ordered this on March 6th and finally got it up and “running” in October. I knew I needed to upgrade the wiring in my garage, but that turned into a little bit of a setback. In fact it cost me a couple jobs. I had a guy lined up to do it, but he left me hangin and then tried to tell me he called me several times. He bumped into my wife at the store and actually had the balls to tell her to tell me to answer my phone so he could get my wiring done. But anyway.... long story short, he’s a tool. It worked out good though. I reconnected with an old friend after I saw his rig plastered all over the net and magazines after full-size invasion. I traded some parts and some table time for his time. He sent me to menards with a list of what I needed, and then did an awesome install.

After that it was all on me to finish setting things up and figuring it out. That’s where Premier Plasma showed their true colors. I’ve never been this happy with a company. Jake has spent a few hours through text getting things figured out, and even hacked into my computer one night to redo some programming.

I have some fine tuning to do to get my cut quality where it needs to be, but other than that it’s all good to go! It’s really a fun piece of equipment, and I enjoy drawing things up and cutting them out. On top of that the powermax 85 is a beast! I had my torch misfire and it pierced 1/4” steel from an inch above the plate. I do need to make a water pan ASAP.

So overall I am really happy with it. Everything is powder coated, and the quality of the table is awesome. I still have a lot to learn but it is easier to use than I expected. I’ve been able to figure out a few things through premiers YouTube channel.

so here are some pics in no particular order I’ll post more as they come.

My wife snuck a picture of me.... I’m building a taller stool soon.

here’s a sign I made for the company my wife works for. Nothing real complicated.

Bad grandpa is a great shop truck. Definitely makes it easy to get the sheets on the table. Could be a little higher but it’ll work for now.

test cuts that came out good enough to use on the sign.

Ready to clean up and paint. It took 13 minutes to cut this one.

Had the wrong torch setting on this one so there’s a lot of dross.

I didn’t come up with this idea but I still had to draw it up. Turned out nice.

Here are a couple gussets that were on the computer. I cut them out just for fun/testing purposes.

another preloaded cut file that I used as a test. It’ll go to a friend of mine for Christmas.

I was so happy when I found this file. Beadlock rings!

And that’s all I got for now

Very nice! You'll have a ton of fun with it for sure. Can't wait to see what you come up with down the road, I know I look at all kinds of stuff to cut out. Good luck and thanks for the write up!

Thanks man! You on IG? I have some videos on there. Nothing real impressive but at least you can see it in action. If some things will simmer down around here I am going to make some YouTube videos.

Looking good, Aaron! Glad you got it up and running.
Thanks! I’m struggling with cut quality. Getting a fairly good bevel especially on round pieces. I’m thinking the gantry must be rocking or something?

Finished up the sign project last night. I need to paint the sign itself but that’ll be pretty easy. The post will stay raw so it gets some good surface rust. The sign will be white with the horse and riders either raw or brown. Haven’t decided on that yet. I’ll scuff the edges so they get some surface rust too. It should look pretty awesome! I’m going to need a bigger shop ASAP. I actually have quite a few plasma table jobs lined up and there are a lot of people asking about it. Pretty exciting! @Deuling has been a huge help. I haven’t bugged him much lately but I’ve been compiling questions so I can hit him with all of them at once. Lol jk

Yes. Without it, your shop walls, ceiling and lungs will turn brown.
My plan was to skirt the table in and do a downdraft fan out the back of the garage and have the doors open while I ran it during the summer. Then I would upgrade to a water pan after I made some monies so I could avoid the brown lung stuff during the winter. But that didn’t exactly work out. I drew up a bolt together pan on viacad the other night, so now I just need to pick up a few sheets of steel and flip the rails on my table. Premiers $600 water pan option doesn’t sound too bad now. Lol

For the bevel, make sure your voltage is set correctly. Also, make sure you're cutting the right direction in relation to travel.
Is the plasma arc cutting in the appropriate direction? The squarest cut angles are always to the right side, with respect to the forward motion of the torch. The plasma arc typically spins clockwise with standard consumables. Good side of the cut is to the right side of the torch, as it travels forward.

I'm sure you are aware of all that already, but just thought it would be worth mentioning.

This good to know, I didn't know both sides are not the same in a cut

I’ll have to check this. I honestly didn’t pay any attention to to what direction it was going. I have a feeling this could be the issue.

man, that's gotta be so fun and creative... props..... :)

is it wrong the first thing I was checking out was the cable carrier? ;)

Beveling issues are a PITA sometimes.
Check these plus what's been mentioned above.
Super dry air feed
Actual cut height is correct
Voltage setting correct on THC
Blown out consumables (can happen on first pierce)
Squared up torch head

Another thing is if the table can keep up with the plasma unit. Sometimes if you go a tad slower than book setting it helps.
