plastic gas tank on k5 any good?

One potential issue is the baffles, or lack thereof, as used in the TBI tanks (87-91.) Not having any TBI trucks myself, I can't speak to the details.
That said, a poly tank won't rust... Crack, maybe, so I'd have a goooood skid plate for 'wheeling ... but other than that, sounds like it might be a decent replacement if you're in rust country.

I've got one for a 71 and it works ok, but I am thinking I'll replace it with a metal one. The attachment method on the metal ones is a little better.
I don't have the LMC catalog for 73+, but the metal ones for the first gens are about the same price as the plastic one.
