Play in a 14bolt ff

I have a 14bolt that im going to put in my truck, and was curious to how much play should be in the housing itself. With the axle on the ground with tires mounted, i can turn the yoke where the driveshaft mounts and move the gears a little back and forth by twisting it like the driveshaft would. Should there be a little movement or should it be tight. I dont want to turn my truck 3/4ton if the axle is bad.

Mine has 4.56 gears and a Gov-Bomb with a bunch of play, I'm not worried about it. I've been told it is normal /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

That's normal, it's called backlash.
