We had our annual New Years Day run today. We had 11 rigs and hit the snow. I got to try out my new 14bff w/detroit and discs
. It worked GREAT! We had knee+ deep windblown snow and did not make it too far. Once turned around we headed back to the trailhead and called it a day. Five of us went to Ft. Richardson (Army post) to try some trails there. The snow was still deep but not windblown, making it doable. I broke trail for three Jeeps and an F150. I didn't have any problems until we had to blast through a plowed burm on the side of the main road where our trail hooked up. A gentle tug (from a Jeep
) and I was able to back up and pack my tracks. I hit the burm a little faster and broke through with the others following. All in all we had a good time considering we hit the trail at around 10 am and ended at about 6 pm and anoly clocked roughly 4 trail miles. Here are a few pics.
