sorry to post this here but im not a member(i have no way to do electronic transactions) and would not be able to reply to my own thread otherwise, my first thread got moved to a forum i can not acess so if anyone had responded already sorry for the repeat and please e-mail me @ [email protected]. i need a rear end with 4.10 gears, either a 12 bolt or a 14bolt, sf or ff. i might just have to get a ten bolt cause i think i have no other option  , and no one wants me to do that, :D lol. plus with 35,s and power it wont even be worth it to install the thing :( . where are all the guys who just went one ton and are trying to get rid of there half ton junk when i need them. i have $250 dollars with youre name on it if you can get me one reddy to install, $400 for a twelve bolt cause i will not have to buy conversion parts . i wouldnt be posting this so much if i were not desperatre and thanks to whoever can do anything for me

wish i could help but i'm over here on the East coast and all i've got is a 10 anyway come aw guys someones gotta have something and be close enough to work something out with the guy.

(take$25 out of the 400$ and get a membership i promise it will pay for itself mine did in no time ;) )

thanks alot but thats my whole problem, my pinion exploded and destroyed everything to get it regeared costs like $700 dollars. i have $400 and thats sqeezing my budget. everytime i read stuff on the forum i see people saying thanks to someone else for this axle or im trying to get rid of this, so i thoguht this might be my life saver. this being my daily driver, if i have to ill go with something like that just so i can get around and then save $ until i can get $700 to get it regeared so i can use my 4wheel. it just sucks though cause for that kind of money i could get a new 14 bolt or used d-60, but you gotta do what you gotta do i guess

I got a 14b you can have for $300 plus shipping... it's in Wisconsin...

Oh yeah... 4.11, no locker, drum brakes, pulled from a running blazer a while back... converted to run under a jeep, and never installed... it's useless to me now because of the fire..

how about the responses from that thread that were worthwhile...

Here in Greeley there's a u-pull-it yard called Anderson's. There are plenty of 14bFF and SF out there. Not sure what gear ratios are available. I'm 90% certain you can get one for less than $200.

Also check over at Colorado4x4.org

I have a 14 bff w/ 4.10 gears, open carrier, from a '74 c20. It's just been sitting around, you can have it for $90 if you come and get it. I have a hoist to help it into your truck... If your front axle is 4.10, it's a cheap alternative. I was going to use it, but someone gave me a 14bsf for free, which is strong enough for me and my 285/75/16s (trying to save on gas), cheaper to rebuild, regear and buy an Eaton Posi for. Also lighter, better clearance, easier to replace brake pads on. Email me at [email protected] if youre interested. We just got about 16" of snow tonight, but it'll melt pretty quick. Lots of info on here about exactly what you will need to install it. I'll rebuild your 12 bolt for $175 + a great deal on parts if you don't want to hassle with the 14 bff swap (I'm SAE Certified, etc.)... Oh yeah, I'm in Nederland, just west of Boulder.

(However, after I have ordered all the parts from Randy's for my 14bsf, the outer pinion bearing race is STUCK in the housing. I tried heating the housing with an oxyacetalene, putting it in a shop press, using a large punch / sledgehammer, and cutting the race in half with a carbide bit on my die grinder, then using the sledge. NOTHING!. Now I'm afraid that even IF someone can get it out for me, the housing will be mushroomed out, and the new race will fit into the housing with too much clearance, and spin in it's seat... I also already spent the time to cut off the the spring/shock mounts, and contour the bottom so it doesn't catch on rocks as easy... Meanwhile my 10 bolt is about to explode.... Sorry for the hijack, but everyone is usually entertained by this kind of misfortune)

Has anyone jb welded a pinion bearing race into the housing? Is there any way to salvage this housing, or am I just SOL?

Dave
