Hello,
I have a 1984 Chevy Blazer, 6.2 diesel and have been running into a problem. About 3 months ago I changed out the transmission and just last month changed out the transfer case. After changing out the transmission the truck still went into gear but after changing the transfer case not only will it not go into gear but it also makes a grinding noise when placing it back into part. Any ideas or help would bee greatly appreciated; I just don’t have any idea what is wrong and am running out of ideas to try.

Thanks,
broessler

That sounds like your t-case is in neutral. It allows the trans to spin the output, but then it grinds trying to engage the park pall.

What transmission is in it and what t-case? Did you buy the correct input spline t-case? Could be possible that you have a 27 spline transmission (TH350 or 700R4) and installed a t-case for a 32 spline output (TH400) instead so the trans output shaft is spinning inside the t-case input.

The more probable would be what thottleissues said though.
