I have a 1990 k5 blazer. my problem is my gauge/idle fuse keeps popping. then i have no dash gauges or lights. truck runs and starts fine with no problems can you guys help?

More than likely there is a short in the cluster more than likely the lighting circuit. Does it blow the fuse when you cut on the lights or does it blow when you cut on the ignition? Try replacing the fuse with the ing on and the lights off if it pops as soon as you put it in then you have a short in the gage cluster circuit.

Probably a bad bulb in the dash causing a short OR heres what fixed mine. I had a bad marker light socket in the front of my truck that was back feeding into the blinker light in the dash and causing crazy weird stuff to happen.

its when im driving when it pops. i did not have the issues last time i drive it. it like it has a mind to do it when it wants. my front driverside marker light has a crack ans a tiny piece out of it....i cant find any other wiring things that could cause this. i change light and only one of them work that i changed. i have no dash lights at night. but gauges seem to be working for now. anymore ideas?

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago.My fuse would pop when i turned my parking lights on. it ended up being my tailight wire, rubbing against sheetmetal. I would check all your light connections. also check you license plate light in the rear bumper, they always get rusty. Hope this helps

Check all your lighting, exterior included.

Also, pull apart the connector where most ppl plug in trailer lights behind the hitch. Most trailer harnesses Y into the factory plugs. We had all sorts of gauge/lighting issues on a truck of ours, and when i pulled apart the plug, it was full of water. Guess we launched a little deep at one point....stupid stock height trucks:haha:

Its a long shot, but easy and cheap, so check it out.

Can i get a replacement dash cluster New or Referb??? if so where? thanks
