i have a 86 k5 blazer with a 6.2 diesel in it i orderd a new starter for it and bolted it all up and when i turn switch on i have power to everything inside cab including lights on outside but when i go to crank it all im getting is clicking noise any sugguestions anyone??

Check all of the connections at the starter to make sure they are all tight AND that they are all on the correct terminals.

all are tight on starter should have 3 wires coming down to starter right one big and 2 little do you know where exactly the 2 little ones go i have tried all ways but got nothing but clicks

and also when i un bolt it from flywheel and try it with jumper cables starter kicks out fine but want turn over or nothing bolted to truck

You should have the red positive cable from the battery and a red 10awg wire on the large post of the solenoid then a purple 12awg wire on the "S" terminal (closest to the block, this is the crank excite wire). Since you can hear a click I suspect you have all the cables hooked up correctly. I would now make sure your battery is fully charged, the ground cable is clean and tight and hooked to the ENGINE, and also the positive cable is clean and tight on the battery.

yup the way your explaining it i have it hooked up correctly but im new to these diesel engines so where is the ground on the engine located and where does it needed to be grounded at

The negative cable from the battery MUST attach somewhere on the engine and then there should be a small pigtail wire from the negative cable that will attach to the radiator support or fenderwell.

thanks for all your help ill give her a shot tomorrow and check all my wires and batterys again ill be back with you shortly

she turned over but is weak so i gota buy 2 new batteries for it and wow at the prices lol but never got it to spin fast enough to crank bc its gone take alot truck sat for 4 years

It takes a lot more power to turn over a diesel engine because of the high compression ration.
