Please post pics of your H2 Wheels, and help me with my decision

I need a set of chrome h2's for my hd.......i like the way the newer ones look

The 1st gen H2s kinda pay homage to the old Turbine style wheels. The straight lines look good on the old boxy style trucks.

oh heck I'll play along too.. :D

A friend of mine has an H2, and when he upraded to 20 inch rims, he gave me these chrome H2s with 37 inch super swampers for free. And I just couldn't pass this deal up.

He still has another set of factory H2s, but they are the non-chrome version. He has told me that I could have those too, I just havent gone and picked them up yet because I have no imediate use for them, or a place to store them.

It is a 8 inch lift, and yes the are 37 inch tires.

They are a cheap, quality wheel in a good size for a lot of applications. They are also forged, which makes them lighter, yet stronger.

Zombie thread... :zombie15: back from the dead.

So, I picked up a set of H2s over the weekend, $400 for the set of 5 which worked for me considering it came with one brand new tire I can use as a spare. Now I only need to buy 4 tires instead of the original plan of 5 tires (300 each) and 5 cheapo black steel wheels (436 shipped).

Anyways, since my original plan was for steel wheels I bought some dual thread lugs and caps and some used GMC center caps from a 2000 newer truck. I've seen others use these caps on the H2 wheels but they don't seem to fit into the wheel enough to reach the lugs. Does anyone know if I need to modify the caps to fit? I've seen one pic in here where someone used H2s on a 04ish 2500HD and used the caps in which I am referring to, so I know it's possible.

This truck...

Hey, I just plucked it from the site, it came up that size. And, now that it's that size, I can almost see where he modded the caps to fit. So, I'm gonna put that in the 'win' column. :waytogo:

rob h his truck in the mega pic.

you need to trim the back side of the center cap down to let it drop down to sit more flush with the rim.

and rob h is modifying his rig . should be done soon. dana 60 front from 78-79 ford with radius arm coil kit. he has a build thread somewere here.

Dont be pic horing my ride......:haha:

The center caps fit the h2s from alloy wheels, the steel wheel caps are larger and dont fit as nice. If you look at the back side of the cap there are little round feet, pull em out with a needle nose and they'll fit real nice and have a good bite on the lug nuts. Thats all i had to do to em, they fit right in the groove on the wheel. Remember these have alot of offset but are over 1 inch wider than the stock alloys...

I has the same idea to buy black steel wheels but these were too cheap and nice to pass up, they fit real nice and with the caps they look real good too.

Yea sweetk30 that straight axle is happening shortly, not as soon as i thought. Im about 2 months behind which sucks.....:doah:

The caps I bought must've been from steel wheels, they don't even fit inside the 'groove' or center section of the wheel. They were cheap so I'm gonna try cutting them around the circumference, close to the lug caps, to fit. Actually, I was gonna try some relief cuts first to see if they'll pop into place.
