During the replacement of my rear floor, I thought we had everything level, and it still seems that way today. However, the tailgate won't completely latch. Doing some measurements makes it look like one side is off by a quarter inch or less.

I've tried ratchet straps and what not to straighten it, and they seem to spring back, with no noticeable change for better or worse.

Ideas, anyone? It looks fine, but how bad is it?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not exactly sure where your issue is, but whenever your trying to draw something in, bend back, and it's springing, you need to "set" it.. whereever the fulcrum point is, take a block of wood and a sledgehammer and give it a smash while you have pressure on it with ratchetstraps, porta-power, etc...

Roger, ryoken. I didn't think about that. Do you or anyone else here have experience with just that?

As for pics, it looks the same; I'll bolt the tailgate back up and get a pic to show for everyone.

sure, had to fix a pickup like that once... too wide at the top.. ratchet strap it, than i put a block of wood on the corner of the tailpan/floor, all the way over at the C-pillar and smashed down with the hammer...
