How do you run you plug wires with the rams horn manifolds?? I have always ran mine over the valve covers and down over the outside of the manifolds and used the plug wires with the straight boots to make them stick out far enough so as not to get burnt. I was told this was wrong and they should be run down and toward the back of the engine and then up behing the engine to the dizzy.

Also what plug wires do you like. Mine is a TBI 350 from a 93 Sub in a 70 jimmy with ramshorns.

Wrong?
Seams to me as long as the wires are not touching the ramhorns and are routed nicly yer good to go.
As for wire brands I ave been thru quite a few over the years. I had the best luck with Summit brand made by Taylor after going thru a set of MSD,Ulitima,Autolite,Something Tronics(I can't remember the name but they bubbled up like a small ballon and they were not even touching the header tube :eek1: .
On my MPFI454 I am now running Mallory EFI wires and so far so good got about 700miles on them so far and I measured the resistance of each wire as I built them to ensure I didn't end up with one wire with a high resestance as that is one of the most common issues I have ran into...
Good Luck

Here's mine.

Corvettes did it under , as a neccessity , they had air on the rams horns :

And the 70 jimmy had them under without smog :

Thanks guys!!!

EFI 70Blazer: i like how you ran your two front plugs over on top of the frame rail on the outside of the exhaust.

Guess I will be ordering some for under the manifolds and try those. We had the stock ones on from the 93 sub but it had normal manifolds so they were too short to run under without making them burn thru.

I also found one of my new plugs that I just put in when doing the swap has the porcelin broken. Oh well more under the hood time.:(

Stock plug routing goes down and back.
You'll need the factory looms for doing it that way though.

Otherwise, here's my solution:
Straight boots on vette 2.5" rams. :D

Thanks vtblazer, This morning went and got a couple new plugs and threw on my old straight boot plug wires from my other motor until I can order new ones. I may have to look at some looms like that. Seems better for me than running down between motor and firewall.

Just getting the old ones out was a pain, I don't even want to try to run new ones.

Also picked up a red top optima today!:D

Forgot to mention, my motor is a 90 TBI with center bolt covers.

Seemed like the best way to run em to me.
Bought the looms/wires from Summit.
