I was thinking of making a plywood tonneau cover for my k5 with a piano hinge in the middle so I could still access it. Right now I have a cut out top on it that is basicaly just the base of a top where it bolts on, plus a 2 to 3 inch lip. (I used it to mount 4 of my lights on top) so my basic idea was to drop the plywood in on top of the shell and use the same bolt holes to secure it. Has anyone done this, or something like it? Pictures? Any ideas/help would be appreciated.

An e-mail addy in your profile would facilitate the sending of the picture you requested. I have one of a 86 K5 show truck a friend of mine owns. He runs a soft top over the plywood and the plywood is covered with tweed, but it may give you an idea of what you are looking for.

Have akways had the idea to do this deal. Figured on using kenworth rubber hood latches to hold it tight Thought of making a hinge in the middle to access the rear.
