Has any one attemted to P&P a set of LO5 heads with good results, it so How did you massage the intake side?

The reason i ask is that when i poped the valves out of the intake side, i found something i have not seen before. In behind the valve is what apears to be something cast into the head to create a swearl? Hopefully someone knows what i'm talking about.
I have P&P several late 60's and early 70's heads over the years great results and hopeing for the same with theses heads as well.
Any help would be great.

ok just did some looking around and almost thought they were vorteck heads but turns out they are the 193 heads that are good for boat anchers

L05 is 87-95 TBI 350 IIRC, swirl port heads are great for low end torque but not much on flow numbers.

If you want Vortec heads the casting numbers you're looking for will end in 906 or 062.
