I know from reading around everyone seems to have "the best" method" which is great, so what works for you.

I'd like to clean up my Blazers paint before it gets too hot in AZ and it bakes in the sun.

I bought this buffer/polisher kit along with these two meguires products.

I just clean/wash it then use the polish then wax it.

Whic of the filter pads and a for what?
I may need to clay bar it but assuming I already did, how to proceed?
This is the original paint

It's hard to tell as there are so many scratches from off-roading but the paint looks more shiny even before the wax

To get rid of the scratches you can use 3M’s finishing compound and their Finesse-It. Although IIRC it’s best to use a random orbital and variable speed polisher. Although with dark paint it’ll be hard to not see the swirl marks especially on black.

These are called "Arizona pinstripes" I kind of like them. Hahahahahaha. But yes, your point is taken especially with black paint.

My method is:
Scotchbrite the whole truck, spray fresh flat black

What is this wax you speak of?

I like the new “ceramic as you dry” products for my other stuff, the k5 doesn’t see enough weather to matter.

Use the Meguiars blue spray ceramic stuff on boat and cars. Beads water nicely and keeps them easy to clean. I’ve “read” that the wax can just melt off in the heat, so the ceramics are more durable :dunno:

3M stuff is great- their perfect-it compound works awesome, and has varying grades to be more aggressive as you go.

Good start though. Black is super tough, especially once it gets beaten up.
