Poly Bushing Question

Hey all, I bought the KYB poly spring bushings for my 89 Blazer out of LMC. The metal inserts that go inside of them are shorter than the originals and there is no way in hell I would be able to torque them down far enough to touch the insert. They are squeaking going over bumps even though I lubed the crap out of them. Does anyone know for sure what the torque specs are for these? Did I get too short of inserts with the bushings? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I installed them a few weeks ago but if I remember correctly it was like 1/4" on each side. No way I can crank the nut down that far.

I can pull one down tomorrow and double check though.

With the sleeve out of the middle, do the two bushing halves touch (or close to it) or is there a gap in the middle?

It sure sounds like you have bushings for 2.5" springs in a spring that's 2.75" or 3" wide. If this is the case, your options are swap for the correct bushings or fab the correct sleeves.

If your shackle is tightened up to your bushing, as it appears to be, it's trying to twist the bushing in the spring eye every time you hit a bump.

The squeaking you are hearing might be the leaf springs themselves rubbing together.

I don't remember... I will drop one down tonight to find out. I know I don't have as much info as I should have. I will get the info up here as soon as I can tonight.

Thanks,

Well I was looking and did some bouncing on both bumpers with zero noises. I just don't know... either way, I am going to put this on hold for a while because some crap came up and will have to deal with this later. Thanks for the help guys. Till I re investigate this problem.
