anyone have the part number for the large bolt bushing for the shackle side of the leaf?my truck has 3/8 bolts in the shackles and bent the $hit out of one wheeling the other day.id like to upgrade to 7/16 or larger

if i recall its for 88-91 stuff.

or some remove the inner tube and run a big dia bolt to fill all the center of the bushing.

IIRC 7/16" is the size of the stock spring bolt at the rear of the spring, I've seen a few of those break. A common upgrade is to go to a stronger shackle and a 1/2" bolt at the rear (like ORD sells).

I can't imagine how easy a 3/8" bolt would break, how did you end up with that?

No one ever used a 3/8" bolt, unless it was some homebrew thing. 88 and up used 1/2" everything before that was 7/16".

i dunno but it broke pretty easy in a off camber hole.it was totally twisted.it was in the truck when i bought it.look here

Likely for rubber bushings, so that the rotation of the bolt doesn't eat the bushing away. Poly is hard enough that it would presumably be okay, especially if it was greasable.

Also note that you'd want to use bolts with a long shank, 'cuz threads would tear the hell out of the bushing in no time. You'd also want a bolt whose shank is the advertised diameter, as IIRC, not all do. (That is, for a 1/2" bolt the shank diameter might be less than 1/2", perhaps whatever the major diameter of the threads is...)

The sleeve also ensures that the compression of the bolt doesn't compress the bushing.
