hey take it easy on the pontiac 301. I am the proud owner of a 1980 firebird with the original engine still in it!! She starts up everyday and runs good
doesn`t have a load of power but is decent on fuel though
not sure of the mileage as the odometer keeps flipping arounf after99,999 Anyways just thought I would say my piece

Well it is the garage, but the post does seem like it's come from left field. What discussion was this defense of the much maligned 301 in regards to?

Personally I'd take just about any other Pontiac motor over the 301, as well as any small block chev.

having worked on a couple of 301 cars, there's one certain mod you can do to them to improve any 301 car... put another Pontiac in its place.
