can front leaf springs move around and cause a poping noise? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif.

Re: popping noise?

The only popping noise I've had was when the steering box was loose...and when the frame cracked behind the steering box. The cracks can be hard to see, I never found them until i removed the box and cleaned the frame with a wire wheel.

I'd look at the area closely and check the steering box bolts...they may just be a little loose.

You could also check the front shackles. My old stock ones the holes were pretty ovalled...that allowed the spring eye to hit the frame.

i dont think it is the center pin, i think it is the front springs moving around in the leaf pack, i could be wrong tho, there is no front thing to keep hte springs from moving side to side in the leaf pack in the front of the spring, ther is one in the rear tho, i figure that might be why /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif.

if they are moving then its the pin, have somone turn the wheel while you hold the spring, if you feel the pop in your hand, then most likely the pin, doesnt matter much you gettin new ones anyway.
