So I went looking for the last bit of snow, got stuck, and didn't strain too much, and popped a NAPCO/Advance Auto U Joint.

So I asked for a Brute Whatever, and it's $18, and made in China. The one I bought last year was USA made, the same one is now also made in China... Shame...

So what U Joint should I buy? I should really install the Dana 60 from my 1 ton, but....

It's at minute 2 something...

Air down and leave it in 2wd and don't be afraid of the skinny pedal... when you get stuck from there go to 4hi... 4 low is too low for the white fluffy stuff.

But really if you'd just air down a little you would have been fine.

As for what u-joint... I don't know. I just buy whatever they have at Auto Zone or Kragen... if I started breaking them I'd look into upgrading but so far I haven't had a single issue *knock on wood*! :)

unless u wanna spend big $$$ for tha high quality brands, spicer, ctm n whatever other brands there are, just buy a couple of em to keep n ur vehicle...thats jus my .02...

I haven't broken a Spicer yet, I have had to replace the "Brute force" (Junk IMO) in no time at all due to being very worn and about to break.

all i can say is wow i have hammered on my 10 bolt with 42 and not snaped one, Must have got a bad one or something i hear they are cold forging the spicers now for better strength.

So I just spent the last 20 minutes trying to find a Spicer u joint part Number, to order some. Not an easy task. some websites are JUNK. Anyways, some come back with "not found" for Suburban/Pick up, but shows results for a FS Blazer. The supplier I usually use, autopartsgiant.com doesn't show ANY UJoints! And I searched a variety of Cheby's. Stupid compoopers!

Here's the blurb re: "cold forged" from eBay, but the shipping is $11 !!!

From my experience Spicers are the best, but not always the easiest to find because most of the chain parts stores don't carry them. However all of the driveshaft shops I've talked to usually have them on the shelf. If you have any truck or equipment parts places check with them also as they might be able to order them in. Just make sure their prices are reasonable as Spicers should be right in the same ballpark cost range as the Autozone/Advance stuff.

Haha you're a nut. I wish I had known about the 5-760x's when I had my 10 bolt. Might have saved me a ton of time and money if they are THAT much stronger.

Next time hit the snow faster! and without the trailer haha
