portable garages?

I had a 10x20 from Costco. steel frame sort of plastic tarp material. It was cheap to buy, lasted me a couple years then i gave it away when we moved to a place with an actual garage. as long as the wind doesn't beat it apart it lasted pretty good.

front is a draw open side to side. all sides are removable separately. thecrossbar at the front is kind of low for a truck. but you can easily block up the legs for height with cinder blocks or something.

Long story made short...

Moved to our current house and property with the intention of building a real nice pole barn... but this economy just isnt allowing it.

And, I am tired of not having a garage to get out of the wind and elements.

So... need something that a Blazer on 44s will fit into.

The above is about what I was thinking. Just need a little more height.

I have 3 of the HD 10x20 plastic tarp types from home depot. The biggest tarp killer is the slip fit connections. The female ends are sharp and stand up enough the tarp will fail there after a few good storms from rubbing on the sharp edge. I started wrapping either duct or black gas line tape around the joints and the tarps last literally 3 times longer. Notice they offer replcement tarps, one regular duty for say $50 the other is "heavy duty" for twice the price and a 5 year guarantee. DAHIK, but its the same tarp, you just pay more cause it wont last 5 years and they`ll have to send another for free, its a real PITA replacing the tarp with it up.

I`m in the same boat, I need to get my rig into something so I can finish it. Does Home Depot carry these? I've never seen em there....Cheapest I`ve found is a 12x20x8 one from Northern for $300, I just don't want to wait for shipping

just make sure they are anchored real good.
i came home from work to find mine fliped over lengthwise and then sideways and was rocking back and forth against my k5,
my back yard is about 100' by 50' and it went from one corner to the other, neighbor said it was quite the show lol

We have had quite the experience with our horse lean-too. I learned all about anchoring.

my old carport mtmike gave me lasted 2 months in the wind. I didn't have front wall on since the k5 wouldn't fit and I put the back wall on so I think it just took all the wind and no where to go, I bet would have lasted longer if I left back wall off too

I keep my boat in one of these for 7 months a year. It deals with a foot or more of snow every winter, and still looks as good as the day I bought it. I second the "anchor it down" comment. Don't ask me how I know....:doah:

Here's a pic:

Not sure what you mean by next to it, either way, its still on concrete?

i got one at bj,s 12x24x8 high i love it i got a bench set up in the back of it and everything 300 bucks it has plenty of working room even fora big truck like the k5,s the only thing was i had to get the truck in before i put the front door piece on because the truck was 2 high to clear the door.

Well, I got it up! for the time being, its anchored with 12 cinder blocks, 6 on each side. Hopefully it's enough....

So, what did you buy?
Where are the pictures?

Thanks.

I dont think cinder blocks will be enough to anchor it in a real wind storm. Will be good for most of the time... but one good wind storm and over it will go.

The 12 and 24 sound good to me. But, in my case, I dont think 8 would be tall enough. I will have to measure.

$300? Where at?
