So we bought a 32 foot travel trailer w a 30 amp service plug in and Im wantin to use a gas/propane gen to run the thing when were not around any electricity.I "assume" since it has a 30 amp service I will at least need a gen capable of producing 30 amps, correct???

Also what is everybodys thoughts of a propane powered gen versus gas.I have a nearly new 20 amp gas unit now but will be sellin it to go toward the 30 amper.

Heres the one I'm lookin at.

i don't know about where you live, but propane has become stupid expensive here. i'd look to get a gen set using the same fuel as the rv. that way you can plumb it to run off of the fuel tank.

Its a tag a long that operates on propane that was one of my main reasons for wanting propane. It will be alot better than having to tote around five gallon cans full of gas.

Yeah I hear ya :D

:D
I paid $300 for a beat-up looking 1kw at a garage sale like 15 years ago. Never done anything but change the oil (maybe a plug or two) and my girlfriend can cold start it, frequently without choke. The damn thing is so quiet I can watch a movie in the camper with it sitting on the trailer. It runs the lights, chargers and fans and stuff in there for like 8 hours on about a liter of gas.

Yup, straight hick out of 1973 :D We got it back in the early 90s for $1000 on top of a 1 ton that got blown over in the wind. Parted the truck out for like $1500 and we already had the trailer...sure beats a damn tent and it's got a fridge+ice box, oven, furnace, toilet/shower, 4 burners, 2 section sink and a tip out to boot lol

I would get the propane as long as you had a seperate source from you camper. I am going to make a bumper carrier for mine when ever I get around to it. The front of mine has enough room to put another two propane tanks in for the generator and the grill if needed.

The other thing to do is get some extra batteries for storage so the generator can charge them too.

Heck with the UFO, I know what those are, what the heck is that leg looking thing laying under the front on the frame?

Looks like a leg of lamb with a steel handle coming out of it.

Thats funny. Looks like a rifle case that mounts to the quads in the bed of the rig.

Huh, now that you tell me, I can see it. I'm used to seeing them actually on the ATVs.

I need to hunt up the picture of my 8N Ford with my homemade mount for my Ruger 10/22.
