Ported or Non Ported to the Distributor?????

Whats perfect?

Just got home from being at work for 13 hours. I was the only one that could make it in besides brett(my boss). I worked till 3 then brett let me work on my truck in the shop (i work for a plumbing and mech company). Fixed Timing (12* at idle, 8* advance with 15 HG of vacuum) Switched it to Non ported vacuum, and fixed manifold leaks and tranny leak. OMG its like driving a new truck. Breaks work 10 times better because of the vacuum fix, and its quiet as can be in the truck. It had that horrible manifold clicking sound before and i couldnt hear a thing driving. Im lovin it. :D

No more backfiring, way smoother, perfect :woot:

Exhaust manifold correct?

Yah not one of the bolts holding them on were completely tightened, not loose but not tight, i thought the gaskets were just bad. Lol, runs so much better now. Hopefully that will save a little gas mileage...:D

Learned something new everyday.
Oh BTW I have the "the Harry high-school non-vacuum advance polished billet "whizbang" distributors you see in the Summit and Jeg's catalogs,"
so I never really worried about vacuum advance. Now I know if I get a mild motor, I use non ported side (providing I can get away with it in Commiforina ).

Haha heck yah. get it hooked up good and it should make it better lol. Unless you spend the extra money to get a truck that is working right to begin with lol.
