Hey guys quick question,
When I bought my K5, I was told that the axles were gone through and had a Posi installed with 3:73 gears (front and rear). I believe the 3:73 part because take-off power is good and my RPMs are down with my 33s, and my speedometer reads 10 mph fast. When I take off hard on my road (gravel), it will spin both rear wheels. Same on pavement. In the mud or snow, (particularly snow) it will only spin the one wheel that has no traction. Same with the front diff. I will only spin one wheel, whichever doesn't have traction. I got stuck in a 5 foot snowbank at work the other day, (had a climbing competition with a co-worker and his F150), needless to say I won
but the top of the pile wasn't as hard packed and I fell through
. My K5 was buried up to the fenders in snow and the rears were on the side of the snowbank. My driverside rear tire would spin and my right side front tire would spin, but even in 4-low I couldn't get out. Had to break out the trusty shovel. Anyways, I had it go the opposite before (pass rear tire & driver side front) spin. Any clue what kind of diff setup I got? Posi, limited slip???
Oh and its an 86 K5 10 bolts front/rear with 33" tires
Sorry for the long post, I like to ramble, (defeintly not a quick question, LOL)
