73 with stock 12 bolt rear. The posi has stopped posi-ing. Is this a shade tree rebuild or what? I have installed a lock-right in the front 44 but never rebuilt a posi unit. Any help would be appriciated. Can't afford a Detroit right now so I'm going cheap!

if you put a lockright in the front and where thinking about a detroit in the rear I'd put a lockright in the rear!

Have no idea which posi..how can you tell? Do you think a Lock right in the rear is a good idea? The front one I can disengage by turning a hub. This K5 spends about 25 to 50% on the pavement. I'm just asking /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

1st find out which possi(my geuss is Eaton four spring,
not Eaton Gov-lock)
Rebuild with new Carbon Fiber clutch packs, and stronger
springs. You can do it yourself !

Prolly not a gov loc. just pull it apart, clean it, put in new clutches and shim it up so its nice and tight, but not too tight!
