Since they`re hard to come by after Skyler went under, I wondered if this would be a good alternative, well 2 actually. #1 - buy 6 ft tonneau cover for 1985 fleetside pick up with a six foot bed, and then have a boat/canvas shop make up the window piece. #2 After measuring from the top of the back of the cab, down to the bedsides, and then back to the tail gate, I saw it was 8 ft, so I thought maybe get a tonneau cover for the same truck, except with an 8 ft bed, then take that to boat/canvas shop and have them modify the last two feet ie. trim, install window, snaps, etc.

Whatcha think?

I was in the middle of doing something like this myself, before I decided to build a roll cage to hold it up. I bought bunch of tonneau and snaps and window material from this place that makes custom tops then just kinda started piecing it together. As far as I got looked allright, I just need to finish my cage to hold it up

Well, I`m actually talking about the tops that skyler made that kind of converted the blazer to a pick up.

Yeah I realized that after I thought about it, I am a little bit slow you will have to forgive me

Well, right now I'm thinking that people are having a hard time visualizing it. It took me a minute, though, but I see what you're saying.
The only covers I've had any experience with is the soft,roll-up style that snap along the bedside. I would have to say no to using that style for the soft-top.
I wouldn't mind having the option of rolling up /opening the back of the cab, but for the tub ,I would want something with a pop-up style hard tonneau for storage and security.
But it depends on your personal needs, too.
I just like my long-bed.

Are you sure they have gone under?

Or did they just leave thier webiste up? I was also VERY interested in one of thier tops, but if they are out I will try to make one the same way they went with thiers. I might even try to call them Monday to get it all cleared up... unless others have already tried?

Yep, they left there website up. If you click on an order button it says they stopped taking orders because of a sale...

i have posted that i am making my own. i found a company that sells the fabric, plus i have access to aluminum extrusion( my job :D), to make the framing and the window. i have asked for pictures from people who have ones already installed to design this thing. once i am done, i will post pics. it wont be perfect but it will look decent and it will work. plus it will only cost me about $100.00.
