I was driving my blazer around for about half hour yesterday after doing new trans and such and when I took the slave cyclinder off the bellhousing I never disconnected anyhoses and when I put the new trans back in I just bolted it back on and didn't bled it. The pedal felt a little different then before I swapped the trans but I was able to shift gears in and out no problem. But after driving for a little I noticed the clutch was catching lower and lower until finally I wasn't able to shift gears. I self bled it on the side on the road by taking the res cap off and slowely pushing the cylinder in and out from under the truck. It didn't do anything. Then I put the cap back on and pumped the pedal a bunch of times and was able to shift gears and get home. I noticed a drop of fluid on the rubber boot of the cyclinder when I was down there. Could it be leaking slowely and causing it to work for a little while then slowely lose pressure? Did I f up the cyclinder by just installing it without popping the cap off and rebleding it?

That's what I'm leaning toward also. Nice right up. My whole setup has been messed up from the beginning with me botching the initial installation. I mutilated the firewall when I converted it to hydro and I've always had trouble bleeding it. I had a buddy that always seemed to get it right but haven't talked to him in awhile. I'm leary of the fluid I saw leaking out the boot and I'm thinking that's where the problem is.

i took the slave cylinder out today to replace it and i saw that a portion of the snap ring broke off. i'm assuming it holds the seal in place(not 100% sure) the of course while installing the new one the bolt on the end of the hose broke off taking the bottom part of the hose with it so now i have to get a new hose made. fortunately not to mad because it was a little tight so getting a new hose made that is a bit longer will probably be beneficial.

If its cheaper or easier can the new hose be made fully flex hose or does it have to be half steel half flex material?

thay just made it that way to have area to clamp it to the body and keep it from movin around.

if you secure it . should be no problem.

fyi always crack loose then spin the slave off the nut. as the rust gets in the nut/line and freezes it up and you did the snap.

That's exactly what I did to take it off because the nut did seize but when I was putting it back on the hose wasn't sitting right and when I tried to adjust it It cracked off.
