last night afterwork, get in the rig and only the day runners work, then get to a friends house and no headlights work. however all the running lights still come on...leave in the dark with just running lights, get around the block and the dayrunners come back on. get home and all the lights work as they should :dunno::dunno::dunno:

no blown fueses. the little bit of searching i didn points to the switch. LMC has em for $45, not sure if i can source em local. Anyone have any thing to add to this?

Replace it, quick! The internals of the switch are falling apart and beginning to short on each other. At the least you'll burn the switch up, at worst you'll need to replace a lot of wiring. Something like that, go to the stealership and get the right part, oem, not some cheap thing made in China.

It prolly feels hot after the lights are on for a bit.

Agreed replace that switch! GM had issues with headlight switches and wiper control boards from 88 to 98.
