My truck has been at the body shop for over 6 weeks. I expected it to be there about 2, maybe 3 tops. But now its been way too long. I'm concerned that issues may arise from having the truck sit for such a long time. Although not a daily driver, it was driven at least 2-3 times a week. Motor was running incredibly smooth for its age (1990 with 159K). I'm sure a new battery will be needed, should I be concerned with anything motor wise?

6 weeks is nothing really. I wouldn't worry about anything unless it sits for a few more months. It only takes about 6 months for gas to start going bad and that is when nasty things can happen to an engine running on old gas.

Ive heard you dont want to let gas get more than a month or so old these days, but then again I live in Mn and have to deal with the BS ethanol blended gas.

I dont worry about it in my tractors though, 2 cylinder John Deere's are designed for kerosene. old gas (within reason) doesnt hurt them.

No! Should be good to go.

I`ve had trucks/cars sit for longer than that with out many probs.
