First new question:

If i go with a returness fuel rail style motor, i need a corvette regulator. Where are you guys mounting this on these trucks? Engine compartment, and utilitizing the whole return line the length of the truck, or down by the tank, and circling it short?

I figure its best to regulate pressure right by the motor, in case of any drop through the stock filter location.

If i mount it in the enigne compartment, where are you guys mounting them? Best way to mount / connect with stock tbi lines?

if you get a chance, call kevin down at pacific fab in morgan hill.
this LS swap stuff is their bread and butter. plus you'll have a local shop that could help with the tuning and what nots. just a thought.

all the swaps i've read that use a return-less fuel rail and an external fuel regulator mount the regulator as close to the fuel tank as possible. the only reason to have an external regulator is to keep the return line short, thus removing a line that runs from front to back with fuel.

Ive spoken with him before, but more from a "drop it off and get it done" standpoint. Thats not happening, at $7k+ :eek1:

Need to chat with them about their swap packages.

But, that being said, i was very impressed with BD so far. We'll see what i can afford.

Mount the filter close to the tank and ditch the stock filter.

Hm. Wondering where/how to tie in. Was going to leave the stock filter just cause its there.....and trying to not do custom fuel lines.

IIRC there is a bolted union in the return line somewhere by the stock filter.

remove stock oil sensor and gut it and tap to 1/8 pipe . and temp sensor is drill tap front or top of water pump like i did in my c-10 build ( check sig line )

you can even swap on a return rail if i recall from older engine to newer motor. or i would mount filter/reg by tank near tank or orignal . and fyi ls fuel lines are left side of motor . i swaped my lines over to left side frame when i redid my whole chassie.

read my and others info on dirty dingo http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=299192

exaust i reused stock truck manifolds and down pipes cut just before cat .

if dbw electric throttle then why 50 for crusie ? its only 4 wires in the brain for throttle to add in to cab .

get right harnness and dont need to modify for 4l80 if i thinking correctly.

and not dissing the lq4 6.0 300hp/350lb 02-06 model and cheeper like to rev more lm7 5.3 is 295hp/335lb in 02-06 vintage. and money saved over 6.0 to 5.3 do cam swap / springs / shorty headers and reflash pcm anyways and get around 140-150hp i have read guys getting on 5.3 . thats more than 6.0 . http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1369110-lsx-engine-identification.html

but each to there own . and i looked and got my 5.3 under 100k miles delivered junk yard CLEAN pull motor/harnness/airbox&mass/computer/dbw computer & pedel all for 1100 bucks .

read up a bit in the conversion section of www.ls1tech.com great guys and info . also www.lt1swap.com for modify stock harnness pin by pin layout EASY . and scan threw my few c-10 and ls threads i did good info and pics on modifying the stuff cheep but good.

Thanks for the tips! Definitely considered a 5.3, but can't downsize in engine swap and keep smog legal.
