Possible new 86 crew cab for me, comments?

Not to hijack, but are those MS tags on your dually ARAMP1. Maybe in Meridian if you are a pilot. Just curious as I am in Jackson. Love the truck, I'm looking for one myself now.

i still may have that oppertunity to but the 1987 1 ton 454 with rebuilt turbo 400 and rebuilt rear d60.... complete truck... DIRT CHEAP..gonna part it out if I get it...

Yip. I was stationed at Columbus AFB. I just took an assignment to Tinker AFB, OK. I've been looking for this truck for over 6 years and finally found it. They are out there, I just had to be patient. Good luck on your search.
 
K5er4life ,Thats a nice truck you bought . I've kinda always wanted a truck just like that (diff color though) But around here they fetch about 5500 to 8000k . I bought a 1 owner 84 srw 2wd 1ton a few years ago for $1500 . It was a AZ (No rust) truck and had 98 thou original miles and had a rebuilt 454& t400 dropped in at 96 thou (it's at 100,765 miles now). The 1st owner and his wife died in a crash and the family (my neighbors) got it and couldn't get it to run (aftermarket fuel injection ) . I put a qjet on it and all was good . I did score on ebay all new factory 4x4 brackets & hangers and plan on converting it to 4x4 . They are great tow rigs :bow: . The Az sun baked the headliner in mine :( .

Thank you very much, they go for quite a bit more around here too. I got lucky, when I saw that truck. It wasnt going nowhere but home with me. I wasnt even neccessarily actively looking for one, I mean I am always looking at classfieds and seeing what is around, especially in the way of a crew cab becuase I wanted one forever. When I heard the price I was expecting it to be pretty beat up, I was very surprised to say the least. So far so good with it, taken it out on a few trips, prolly around 250 miles round trip. And I drive it everyday when I get home from work to go to school. Its awesome well worth it, I reccommend a crew cab to everyone! :D Hey post up some pics of your crew if you got it.

Ok here is my 84 2wd srw 1ton crewcab . I really want to go duelly but I hear the bed's are different where the fenders bolt on and I don't want to mess up my nice bed . I already have a 4:10 geared rear 14bff with a detroit locker in the truck now so it's just a matter of finding a d60 w/ 4:10's and mouting up a div 205 and building new front & rear shafts . I would think with the taller 1 ton frame (3") and a 6" springs a guy could run at least a 38" tsl radial swamper . With my mild built .30 over 454 I should be able to to keep my 4:10 gears . As it is now with a 265-75-16 tire the truck runs 2500 rpm at 55-60 mph . The rack thats on the truck was a $50 cheapy off craigslist And it's much needed for those trips to the steel yard to pick up all my pipe/tube for my fab work on my rigs .
