I was just told(this will require investigation) that a front drive line out of a 88-99 chevy half ton 4x4 front drive shaft will bolt right up to a 78 blazer that has a th350-203 combo with 6" lift. I guess the "down side" is that they are single joint on both sides of the shaft so no double carden on the t-case side. Also was told that at some point they switched to slip in the t-case which wont work. I hope someone has access to one and measure and verify! Would be nice to have a cheap shaft source.

Im running a shaft off a 89 half ton. I had to clearance the yoke quite heavily on the tcase side, the other one needed to be changed. The nice thing is the slip is right off the tcase so its up nice and high. I have had it on for 2 years now and no problems, it works great. Im running it with approx 5 inches lift and the front axle offset 1.5 inches.

The only downside from some research that I have done is that there is all sorts of variations in the shaft sizes, lengths etc on the 88 up style.
