Hey gurus, I have another question for you all. I replaced my radiator recently due to my 400ci constantly overheating. Prior to replacement I flushed the engine, put in the new radiator, used proper mix and distilled water, and it seemed to be working fine, until I had to drive it back to the garage...

It wouldn't go into gear. I have a TH350, and prior to installation of the new radiator you could definitely feel it shift into gear, now it doesn't even sound like the transmission engages in any gear, drive or reverse, until you give it a lot of gas and then the rig finally moves somewhere. The only way I can explain it is the RPMs have to be very high to get the truck to go anywhere, and while it is moving its usually in the 3000 range and it won't shift to the other gears. The transmission sounds like its stuck in first and the engine hesitates when I press the gas pedal.

Any ideas?? Thank you all in advance!

Check the tranny fluid level. You most likley lost some when you changed the rad out.

and remember when checking the fluid on these transmissions it should be running and in park.

I drove all of maybe 100ft to get it turned around and put back in the garage, hopefully that didn't do anything to it :doah:

Hey Orngk5,
Did you ever get this fixed? I'm having a similar issue.

Thanks,
Cameron
