I just installed a 2.5 inch skyjacker lift on my 1990 blazer and Im experiencing a little vibration most noticeable between 25-35 mph. any advice on how to tackle this? im open to all opinions!
P.S. Im knew to this sight and would like to thank everyone for their helpfulness and input as im starting to get into the sport!

new tires/wheels or same ? if new or new to rig now possible balence problems.

check ujoints. recheck all your stuff you just touched. it can work loose a bit. a good recheck is the thing to do in a lift kit job.

tires and wheels are still the same. Havent really started looking at the u-joints and such left just looking for a plan of attack if you know what i mean! but ill start looking into loose stuff and slack in u-joints thanks guys!

I dont think you should have d/l vibes with 2.5 in.Have you checked for slack in u joints?

'90 model would be a 241 with a slip yoke output. It doesn't take much of an angle to make the rear drive shaft start vibrating. Put an angle finder on the rear shaft and see if your angles are the same at the T-case and at the axle.

It might be possible that you do not have the shaft "phased" correctly.

What method of lift do you have on the rear (blocks, add-a-leaf, springs)?

The angles of both U joint yokes need to be within 1.5 degrees of each other, the blocks you installed in the rear may be in backwards and the taper is tipping the axle the wrong way. Phasing of the driveshaft is a term used to make sure the U joints are in line correctly. It is possible to slip the joint apart and reinstall the 2 sections no longer in line as prior to dissasseble. Have a look a tom woods drive shafts website and hit up the tech section for good info.

yeah i know the lift install has been crazy from day one! the rear springs i first got were 2.5 inch springs which gave the rear no lift havent got a clue why compared them to a new set of 2.5 rear springs and were identical so i traded out for 4 inch rear springs which leveled the truck out! so all in all i have 2.5 in the front and 4 inch in the back and the truck like a said sits level! havent got a clue why all of this happened but after installing the rear springs is when the vibe started but like i said its not real bad but i want it taken care of!

well rear at 4" then on a short blazer will prob get you a vib.

and there is pros and cons to tcase drop. it help the rear but hurts the front. so be on the look out.

Now we're getting somewhere. With 4in. rear lift it is quite possible you could get a d/l vibe.If every thing else checks good you can add a few degrees to it by shimming rear springs.

would adding shims replace the ones already on the rear springs? and where is the best place to buy shims?

is it kinda a guess and check kind of thing or is there a way to measure? i really appreciate all the help!
