I'm getting close to cage time, I searched on here for a cage thread with no success of finding one, I've looked at several build pages and through the gallery, I think it would be cool to consolidate cage pics all in one thread and maybe start up a little discussion on pros and cons of certain design aspects, so post up your pics of your cage and key points like where they tie in with the frame (if they do), seat mounting, harness mounting, whos got the baddest, family friendly, and so on.....

no freakin way, you're like 8 miles from me. Oh wait, did you have those beadlock rims and wheel you were selling at one point? hahaha I drive up myrtle and mountain quite frequently.

I'm getting started on a poop pipe cage with only a harbor freight bender this week :pimp:

Here is mine. Its just from the B pillar back. Built it last year mainly so my kids could start going wheeling with me again. I built it with a rear taper in mind, and planned to do a full top conversion when I did the front. I may do a boatside as well when I do this so currently trying to sell it to a guy in the local club as I am not sure it will work with my next plan. I would also like to make the rear halo a bit larger as it came out a bit cramped in the rear. It is sandwiched to the body at the B pillar in two places and to the frame on the main B pillar tube. The rear kicker tubes also sandwich the body and go to the frame. Its all 1.75" HREW

I'm not going to make any bends sharper than 25* when I make mine

And while we are at it, How many feet do you guys have into your cages?

I just bought 60', I hope its enough to get the basic structure done, I'm going to use lighter tubes for triangulation and bracing.

I only want to do the A,B,C pillars and halo with it

Yeah I've done one cage before, but it was in a car. I imagine my burban will eat it up pretty fast

It's 1.9 .145 wall, so I didn't want to use a ton, maybe I'll get 40 more feet though

I guess it's not that much heavier if at all compared to 2" .120 wall. So maybe it's not a big to use 100' of it

It was 50 bucks for a 20 something foot length.

Tied to the frame at A anc C, but just sandwiched the floor at the b pillar. It is going to take some creative work to tie to the frame there.

do you have some more pics of the front and back seats in the cage? I'm digging this

I made a 90* piece that attaches to the lower plate and goes right in front of the rear spring hangar to the frame I believe.

I have also seen people run a straight piece from the slider to the frame and tie the B pillar to that.

Oh and Howdiy IIRC I used around 50' for the rear section I posted above.

Tied to my sliders at A&B pillars. Tied to the frame in the front and C pillar.
Sliders tied to frame.

Need to get a better picture and get all the sheet metal panels back on.
