Hands down my favorite, The Snap-On CT3850 1/2 cordless impact. This thing has saved me countless hours. There's no better friend in a U-pull it yard or on the side of the road.

I've had the 18 volt since it came out.. vital as a marine mechanic... tho the batteries suck, the gun has been flawless... abused for years and laughs at it...

This is my fave tool, just for fun, and mainly cause I just like to promote how much it rocks and nobody uses them...

I'm surprised no one has already mentioned the universal tool that will do any job you need:

3/8" Impact. I called it my right hand. That thing saved me MANY MANY hours of work. I have no idea how I lived without one.

I've used it. It's great, but I have 2 ct3850's, an 18 volt drill, L.E.D
flashlight, and 4 batteries. I'm not rushing into the new style stuff yet!

At this point, I have more parts glued on my truck than bolted...fenders, inner fenders, brakets, etc...

The Swiss Champ. Bought it with my 1st pay check from my first job. A "friend" in the Corps lost it (idiot!) but I got another one. My original one was black... new one is red.

I agree on the cordless impacts..

I'm pretty happy with my DeWalt 18v 1/2" drive impact as well. 300 ft/lbs for a battery powered impact is pretty sweet. I also have the car charger and two batt's for it, so I can use it all day at home, or on a trail. It's probably my favorite off the top of my head. I got great deals on both the charger and impact on ebay seperatly. My 5 yo daughter loves to "help me use it" whenever she can. LOL

I also have all of my dads mechanic tools, and shop box. He wanted me to have them when he died, so all of them, inclusivley (sp) are favorites of mine.. and I think of him every time I use them.
