restomod's are hugely popular and I'd bet that K5 owners are among the most enthusiastic modders of all enthusiast vehicle groups. That said, I'm curious, what kinds of modern conveniences have you all added to your vehicles? For me, I've kept all my mods subtle. For example, I retrofitted a delco 2700 electronic tuner shaft style radio with Bluetooth, so I can wirelessly stream music to it. Also, I have KC LED H4 style headlights and NiLite LED spot and flood lights and all LED interior/dash lighting. My mods pale in comparison to some of the crazy upgrades I've seen on CK5, but I haven't found a thread dedicated to modern upgrades here, so post em up!

LED dash and domestic lights on the '70, the '72 and the '90
Intermittent wipers , map lights on the inside rear view mirror, the '70
Auto dimming, compass rear view mirror in the '90.
I have heated and ventilated seats in the '72, but since I haven't gotten the ventilation to work yet, I don't count it. I don't care about the heat, for that truck.
I guess that I am slacking....

I keep the stock stuff like power windows, power locks, AC, CC and delay wipers working which goes a long way. So does keeping up your interior so you have a soft seat to ride in and not staring at ugly all the time. I feel like anything from the 90's and older MUST have a stereo upgrade, so that's a given. I think the #1 comfort you can give your truck is soft springs and decent shocks. This makes every day behind the wheel more enjoyable, whether street or trail. A lot of the stuff that cars have gained over the last 30 years you don't really need: ABS, heated seats, airbags, onstar, climate control, etc. If stuff like in-dash navigation is a priority you won't be driving a square anyway.

I would say power window relays and headlight relays are worth doing. Keyless entry would be nice, but I'm not sure about remote start unless your EFI is really stock.

H4 conversion
CS144 alternator
04 Silverado seats
Compass/temperature rear view mirror
Of course, the stereo
USB charger
Electric fans set up on dual temp sensor

I haven't done any yet but my list

Better stereo, better seats, better hvac, and one of my big ones sound deadining

6.0 LQ4
Edge Products CS so I can monitor live all my detailed engine vitals
powered leather seats

So far, 5.3L vortec, 01 Silverado Bucket seats, Tuffy Security console loaded with CB, 12v, USB and DC to AC inverter. Good Kenwood deck with Bluetooth for phone and music streaming. Soon to be added aux battery with isolation for winch and future camping power needs. Will also be adding a 12v onboard air compressor to the mix with at least a couple of gallons of air storage for faster tire fill ups when getting off the trail.

Got a link?
I'll have to shoot some photos of the set up, but it's essentially a stock 80's Delco radio, and sitting between the radio and the antenna is an in-line FM modulator that i can switch on and off. When switched on, it cuts off the antenna completely, when off, it passes the antenna through. I connected a 12v bluetooth module to the FM modulator and that was pretty much it. Now when i want to stream music, i flip a switch, push preset 1 and can stream music from my phone.

Bluetooth head unit with all new speakers. USB ports in the ashtray. Also got a 100 sq/ft of fat mat sound deadener.

I installed a rear view mirror out of a mid 2000's Tahoe and ran both power and temperature sensor wiring through the cab up the A pillar and behind the head liner. I also wired in a new LED dome map light that came out of a 2016 Suburban. That dude is nice and bright. No more squinting to find stuff in the cab.
