Post your Winter projects here

Truck is doing ok. Only project I have planned on it is taking a back seat to another. Need to get the FI on it and Hurculine it. need to do some welding before the hurc can go down.

Big project that has put the rest on back burner is 1959 Airstream That we inherited when my Father-in-law passed in Feb. Doing a ground up restore on it. Just put the body back on from replacing the floor. Start rewiring it next weekend (this weekend I'm helping give away a jeep www.paynejeep.com ). Once it's rewired I can strip the old paint of the walls and then repaint. Then I have to restore all the cabinetry. Hope to have it done by spring break and take it to FL.

I asked this question already: http://coloradok5.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=garage&Number=885075&page=2&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1 , but this is my list which I hope to get done by March...

Hey guys, the weather is turning cold again. The wheeling is going to halt, or slow quite a bit. And we will all have more time on our hands. So, of course, we will be working on our junk right? Well what are your plans for this winter? I can't wait to get started. I bet ya'll are the same!

Here's my list (in order for the most part)...
- Find the starting problem, and fix it (no spark)
- Time/Tune
- Fix the clutch linkages
- Put the D60 under
- Crossover steering
- Redo exhaust (headers blocking front driveline, and I want it to be much quieter)
- Reperch 14ff (pointing up too high)
- Redo rear shackle flip
- F250 front shock hangers, triangulated rear shocks, RS5000's
- Anti-wrap bar
- Put on the Short bed that I picked up
- Dual np205's (will do a write-up on this when it happens)
- 15x10's
- Full cage/dovetail: this will most definately take a long time. I have a spare body that I will be using. I am going to be taking the front clip off, and building a tube section up front, using the fender skins, and hood wrapped on the front tubing (like the ORD k5). The rear hasn't been figured out quite yet.
- Interior: powerwash, window handles

Looks like a lot, but I keep my truck out at my job. They let me work on it when there isn't anything to do, and there isn't anything to do during the winter. Nobody flys when it's freezing, and there isn't any grass to mow.

YOUR TURN!!

Let's just drop my post, and continue here. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Sorry man, didnt see your post! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I will try to get away with the least amount of lift possible. I am going to move the motor back, probably build a round tube frame, and will cut the floor if needed! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
This will be a trail only rig. There will be no holds barred in this match! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I have a sawzall and Kyle P is not afraid to use it! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Any Body mods other than the "necessary" mods? Will you be narrowing it any or boatsiding it? That's the new term for the month - Boatsiding! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

So what's with the growing trend of you midwest guys going to the Rockwells?? I know of at least 3 that are in the works, maybe 4 now

definitely narrowing it! just don't know how yet. I know I will be narrowing the front and back! And yes, boatsiding /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif is on the mile long (and growing) list!

We're just a bunch of rednecks that haven't found a big enough truck /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

It just happens that way.
When you go wheelin' and break $hit all the time- then wheel with Sharp....
YOU JUST GET ROCKWELL FEVER!!!

He just points the rig where he wants to go and hammers it!
The guy runs 5+ trails @ 30mph for the fun of it!
He clipped a tree one time and actually cracked a Rockwell knuckle.
You gotttaloveit!

Funny, didn't that Blazer start off as a show truck?

/forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Anyways, I wished I had my Jimmy and then a trail only rig that I could beat the holy shat out of and not care /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

/forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif You nailed it!

Ask 88K5Jimmy (Ross) about the ride up the 5+ trail doing 30 mph. That was wild to watch. Ross had the biggest grin on his face when the got back down to the bottom! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Well...since you asked here we go... /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif
After I finish building the house and shop,(number 1 on the list!) I am planning on turning the Sub into a HOOV(High Occupancy Offroad Vehicle). Here is the list of Modifications:
Raise the rear floorpan to allow the fuel tank to be moved up above the bottom of the frame.
New bumpers front and rear
Dana 60 front
14 bolt ff rear
4.56 gears
Crossover steering
High steer
New diff covers
Coil over front suspension
ORD rear shackle flip
Trim the rear quarter panels and front fenders
Linex the body from the trim down
Custom Hummer wheels with runflats

I think that is a good enough start, if I get that done I will surely find something else to do /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I plan on returning my K5 back to stock for the time being, PO had put a stiff A$$ cheap block lift on so in order to make the rig more family friendly, and until I have more $ I am returning to stock form. Also going to swap out the 350 for a new 307 and then rebuild the 350. Misc. creature comfort mods. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

install my 12 bolt welded w/ 4.10s rear end, get a locker up front, make some sliders, thinking about a cage, and getting 35's on the beast! just some minor things, since i drive it daily.. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

get hooked up to an I.V.nov30th and sleep through it /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gifto /forums/images/graemlins/truck.gif
