Alright guys,

Im looking at buying a K5 today, its a 1990 and there are some trouble spots. The rockers will need attention and so will the tailgate. My question is, where would you all get replacements?? I dont have the ability to make patches myself, but can have a buddy weld in replacement rockers. I have heard that LMC's metal is thin, but what about the other two? I would rather not go junkyard sourcing, except for possibly the tailgate.

Thanks.
Max

From what I've read, unless you get OEM, they are all pretty much foreign made and thinner gauge than stock. I hope somebody posts up contrary information though.

^^^what he said. I've had good luck with Goodmarks replacement metal. It atleast fits correctly.

Go used OE if you can. Make sure you check the seatbelt mounts in the front,, and the rear floor by the tailgate. Blazers like to rust if driven in salt areas, pull the carpets if you need to.
