Have any of you guys had your rally wheels powder coated? I am thinking about getting them done to the stock rally wheels. Good idea or not?

I had a hook up at the time and it cost me $12 a wheel, but I lost my hook up.:( I called the local powdercoater recently and he wanted $75 a wheel. :eek1:

yeah i work for wheels america and its $100 EACH for just a walk in with them dismounted already. its outrageous.

i used to get it done for 25 bucks a wheel local here..i havnt beeen down in a while but im needing to get mine done and hopefully they will offer the same price

The place that did mine was Wingfoot tire corp., they're a Goodyear truck tire distributor. They refurbish wheels for big trucks and powdercoat them to the customers specs. (brown for UPS, etc.). They didn't have any black powder for mine in stock so I had to wait a couple of weeks for them to get some in, but for the cost savings, it was worth the wait.

back when i ran the steelies, i just sanded them dow real good, made sure it was as smooth as i could get them without spending a month on them, primed them with a black primer, then spray painted them with semi-flat black, not too shiny, not too dull, looked similar to a powdercoat type finish, and was easy to touch up if they got scratched.

also cheap too:D

I think I'll check around and maybe just get them sandblasted and paint them myself. Thanks for all of the comments!

that's all i did, any overspray on the tires comes off with alittle water and one of those green scratchy pads you'd use for dishes.
