The new LBZ Dmax hasn't hit dealers yet, far as I know. I have a friend that is waiting for it to be released. It should be a thumper, I read that they did a lot of changes to the motor, different turbo, lower compression, and it's supposed to be quiter. Plus, they added a 2nd OD to the Allison, so now it's a 6 spd.

The LBZ has been in production now since the beginning of october. And yes....it is more powerful than the dodge.

Please do a search for Dr. Performance on the TDR site. See what they have to say. It's been a while, but what I read was not favorable to the Dr.

On the Dodge vs. GM diesel thing....
I have had three Cummins trucks, the last was an '00 with the 6 speed. They were OK, but now I have an '03 GMC (see sig). This truck is so much nicer, faster, and tows better. What made me switch? I wanted a REAL crew cab, and a solid automatic. I don't care about the IFS. I do not plan to lift it, so why not have a better ride? The only thing I miss is the sweet Cummins sound. The Dodges had their share of problems, too. I know no truck is perfect, but I'm happy that I went back to GM for this one.

To answer the origonal posters question.I don't know what a programmer is like, but I'm familiar with big box's like the TTS,VA 200+,and a little about the Edge.
I personally have a VA 200+.It's very powerfull.Has 0/200+/150 settings.Dyno's between 450-480 rwhp.I plan to run some injectors and N20 with mine in hopes of getting over the 600rwhp mark.:D

Yes LBZ's have been on lots for a while.I drove one back to back with an 06' CTD.There is no comparason. They are fairly close in power but GM is far superior when it comes to the smoothness of the Allison.I couldn't hardly feel it shift. The Dodge on the other hand shifte kinda rough.
My main gripe with my D-Max is the IFS,which I will probably cut out and replace with a leaf springs and D60.

I didn't make my post yesterday, it was made in very early October, and my local dealer hadn't recieved any yet. Plus I had two friends that ordered LBZ trucks and hadn't recieved them yet.

Duh.... 360/650 is a bigger number than 325/610....... Back when I stated the Dodge was still on top...it was. The LBZ wasn't out yet, around here anyway.
