my tranny vacuum and power brake booster are ran off a splitter coming from the intake right behind carb. is this okay? i plugged the vacuum coming outta the back of carb. how can i tell if i got a vacuum leak back there?

Spray something on it while its running to see if idle changes . You don't neccesarily need to use something flammable .

Why not run the brakes off the carb with the hose from your 83 ?

You may need an adapter for the metal tube for some carbs , but some you don't . If I remember right the factory metal brake hose adapter threads right on to Edelbrocks , and use a small adapter for Q-jets .

Run the tranny off the x-mas tree on the back of the intake , and cap the unused lines .

because the intake i have puts the vacuum piece behind the carb to close to the carb so there no room. barely enough room for a plug. the piece i have hooked up to it has 2 other places to put hoses one has the tranny goin to it and the other i plugged. where i got the brake booster hose hooked up at the hose was too big so i took some spectre caps cut the tip off them and slipped to of them over it and made a snugg fit and used a hose clamp. thats why i ask how to check for vaccuum leaks. this shoud be okay right?

90 degree elbow with hose barb and rubber hose then , will look cleaner than a tee or something . Could do that to the tranny line as well and almost get it to lay flat on the intake :D

thats what i got is a tee. but with 3 ports. with one plugged.
