So I’m finishing up my power door conversion and I’m down to the actuator rod. My understanding is this rod goes to the pull knob on the interior side? How does it connect to the latch to unlock the door? The LMC catalog is a little confusing.
Yes, I know that it didn't have power locks. My 82 was a non power door, converting it over. From what I have gathered the power rod is longer. Still confused how the rod hooks to the actuator and latch.
Should be a rod to connect to the door lock linkage to transfer the electromechanical force to the lock rod.The actuator does bolt under the door panel but what confuses me is inside the door how does it electronically activate the lock and manually with a pull on the knob?
They did and I’m finally getting around to installing them.Did my door’s guts go to you? I don’t remember.
Perfect, I’m sure it would have helped if my door had a lock rod to begin with… probably could have figured it out.Start at the 2:00 mark.
Make sure you get the correct rod. The one for power locks is longer at the bottom so it can go through both the latch mechanism and actuator. Here’s a side by side (power lock is the upper, manual is the lower):Perfect, I’m sure it would have helped if my door had a lock rod to begin with… probably could have figured it out.
Thanks for the link.
