Power Inverter Question/Advice 12v-110v

I've got the lighter plug one, but they're noisy, and I'd prefer to hard wire one. Any luck with one or the other? Does sinewave jargon matter? Are they noisy from cooling fan?

I've got a 1000w invertor mounted under my drivers seat and have it hard wired (4ga cables) to my auxillary battery and you can barely hear it when it's on.

I have all sizes, from the 95w that plugs into the cig lighter no fan and no noise, to th400w that can be plugged in or fard wired, a bit noisy from the fan, to the 3000w that I have hard wired in my big rig, has a fan but not noisy until it has a big load, then the fan will come on and you can hear it then it shuts off.
As for brands I just buy what is on sale.

Tripp-Lite

Hard-wiring a power inverter is easy. I would stay away from Chicago Electric or any of the other cheap crap like it. Tripp-Lite makes great equipment in about any size you want.
