Hey,

Just wondering who is running non hydroboost power steering with a front locker and 40+ tires and no hydro ram? How well does it work and did you have to do anything special to get it that way?

39.5 Iroks detroit in front

steering sucks, it tends to make you a better driver though cause you know on certain lines your steering won't work. With a brand new pump my steering is pretty good unless I am really jammed up against something, that doesn't last long though.

Locked or LSD?

True, I have a lockrite in the front. With the wheels locked, I cannot turn the tires. No problem in two weehl drive, but hte minute I drop it into 4x4...I need to go really straight.

Dana 60 with a lockright, crossover, and big tires on heavy H1 wheels = No turny so good...

That is what I am thiking, but want to make sure I am not trying to cover upa faulty steering system with a new componenet...In other words, is Hydro Assist needed, or is my steering system fubar'd?

Lock right + X over + 37" SSR's = almost no turning in 4wd. I started driving with a hub unlocked to compensate, but negates the purpose of the locker.

Thansk for the feedback guys...that is the type of info I was looking for...is it normal or did I screw up installing the new pump and steering box.

Last trip, I just switched between 2wd and 4wd constantly, was easier than getting out to lock and unlock the hub...but it dawned on me that I wasn't getting much use out of the lockrite in 2wd.

I'll go start reading the Hydro Assist threads.
