Im looking to get rid of the last of the free play in my steering on my 91 k5.. Ive got quite a bit of lateral movement.. While the front end is off the ground I can move the tires a few inches either way(together) and have about 20 degrees of play at the steering wheel.. (I've already replaced all of the other front end components) I'll be adjusting my box first, but if not satisfied i may go ahead and just replace the box itself.. Anyone have a good write up or any tips on replacing my gear box?

not sure.. but will the heep steering shaft get rid of some play? i bought one but havent put it on.. may have the wrong gearbox...

Don't use a rebuilt box from an auto parts store...they are crap.

Have it rebuilt by someone that specializes in steering boxes.
