Anybody ever use a heater core as a power steering cooler?
Will it work?

I need to come up wiht a cheap soloution so I don;t need to replace the pump every few months. Hydro Assist in in the works, but I need a cheap fix for now.

Seems like plumbing a heater core would be a PITA. How about a transmission cooler?

The factory ones are just loops of hardline, so anything with fins would prolly do better...

I should just go to the junk yard and get a cooler.
They have tons of police cars damaged in wrecks and the hurricane....they have to have pretty heave duty coolers in them.

Go to the junkyard and pick up a small tranny cooler. I got this one off a dodge caravan

I found another yard that will give me one for a cold Barqs rootbeer.:D

I've been there and that's his standard payment. :haha: He's been that way for years, I know folks that "bought" stuff from him in the mid 80's like that.

did he still have the broken D60 that he wont sell. :doah:

He used to have a Dodge D60 with a broken knuckle that he wouldn't sell, always "going to do something with that". That thing must have sat there for at least 10 yrs. :doah:

I remember that D60 ! It was off of a Diesel Dodge that was hit HARD in the front . That was around 1993/4 when I was there ........

There is some junk in there that looks like it has not moved in at least 30 years.
Overall a really cool yard though. I will be going back for more junk.
